Our industrial counterbalance forklift truck training course can be accredited by RTITB or alternatively In House training is available. Both will provide learners with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in safely operating an industrial counterbalance forklift truck. The course itself lasts between 2 and 5 days depending on the experience of the learners and course numbers. However, we also offer a single day refresher course to ensure your employees remain competent and safe in their job.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to carry out a pre-shift inspection and operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions and accepted good practice. They will also be able to load and unload vehicles and static racking, and understand the causes of instability of the truck and loads.
We will also ensure they have a thorough understanding of their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any other relevant legislation.
During the course the learners will be encouraged to participate in practical demonstrations and exercises, as well as explanatory theory lessons which will be supported by power point presentations and DVDs covering all the above.
On completion of the RTITB course a Theory test and RTITB practical test will be taken and successful learners will be presented with an R.T.I.T.B approved certificate which will be registered onto the RTITB database of approved forklift truck operators (NORS). Our In house training is done to the same standard but without certification.
